After giving birth to daughter Kali earlier this year, rapper Bhad Bhabie has largely stepped out of the spotlight. But now, she’s revealing a new health struggle: She has cancer.
The musician—whose real name is Danielle Bregoli—shared the news in a post discussing her recent weight loss. Here’s what to know.
On November 7, Bhad Bhabie shared an Instagram Story alluding to her health struggles. Responding to commenters discussing her weight loss, the 21-year-old wrote, “I’m Sorry my cancer medicine has made me [lose] weight. [I’m] slowly gaining it back . So stop running w the worst narratives 💕”
The singer—who originally went viral during a 2016 appearance on the Dr. Phil Show where she told the host to “Cash me outside, how ’bout that?”—did not say anything further about her condition.
Yes, Bhad Bhabie said she’s lost weight due to medications she’s taking for her cancer.
In the comments of her most recent post, fans expressed their concern for her health.
“Listen mama!! No matter what you look good AF!!!” one follower wrote. “Im praying for you and your health!!! You baby need needs you!! Stay strong and always keep ya head up!!”
“Girl don’t let these people make you feel like you not human with the body shaming…..” another added. “You will feel better once you heal though”
The singer has since limited comments on her posts.
In March, Bhad Bhabie welcomed a new addition to her family: a daughter named Kali. The 20-year-old slipped the news into a March 15 Instagram Story, sharing a black-and-white photo of herself cuddling a newborn.
In February, she and ex-boyfriend Le Vaughn celebrated the news with an all-pink baby shower, complete with a neon sign featuring the baby’s name: Kali Love.
“The name doesn’t really have any specific meaning, it’s just [Le Vaughn’s] mom picked the middle name and then I had a list of five names I liked, and Kali was one of them,” the rapper told People at the time. “I thought that Love went good with Kali.”
