GUWAHATI: In response to public outcry, director Rajesh Bhuyan on Wednesday said the footage of individuals arrested in connection with Zubeen Garg’s death will be removed from the late icon’s final film, ‘Roi Roi Binale.’The decision comes after backlash over the inclusion of Zubeen’s bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami, manager Siddharth Sharma, and co-singer Amrit Prabha Mahanta. The film is set to release on Oct 31.
The controversy erupted following the release of Zubeen’s song “Mur Mon” from the film, which quickly gained traction on YouTube. Despite the song’s popularity, the appearance of Shekhar in the video sparked outrage among fans. Bhuyan’s announcement aims to address these concerns and preserve the film’s integrity.

Do you agree with the decision to remove footage of the arrested individuals from Zubeen Garg’s final film?
“We will remove the footage featuring Shekhar Jyoti Goswami because people have objected to his appearance in the song from ‘Roi Roi Binale’ released on Tuesday. We won’t do anything that makes the public unhappy. Zubeen also never did anything that displeased people. He was always with the people and spoke for the people,” Bhuyan said.Although Shekhar, Siddharth, and Amrit Prabha did not have any important roles in the film, Bhuyan told TOI that the arrested trio appeared in some footage. He said all these scenes would be removed. “Their opinions, thoughts are not matching with us. Demons like them do not have any place in Zubeen’s film,” he added. In the “Mur Mon” video, Shekhar appeared as a recordist, while Siddharth and Amrit Prabha participated in the shooting of the film as an event management manager and dance artist. Following the public’s reaction to Shekhar’s presence, Bhuyan stated that the footage featuring Siddharth and Amrit Prabha, which is yet been released, would also be removed. The highly anticipated film, in which Zubeen plays a blind character, is set to be released on Oct 31, as Zubeen wished. The film is expected to be of two hours and 25 minutes. “Another song, ‘sapon sapon’, is likely to be released soon. We are preparing to release the film as all major tasks have been completed,” Bhuyan said.
