The Kansas City Chiefs are on track to earn their fifth win of the 2024 regular season against the New Orleans Saints on “Monday Night Football.”
After a wild interception by former Chiefs defensive lineman Khalen Saunders led to a Saints touchdown that cut Kansas City’s lead to three points, Patrick Mahomes quickly marched the defending Super Bowl champions downfield.
The Chiefs hit paydirt to score a touchdown after coming out in a funky pistol formation that had tight end Travis Kelce receive the snap from center Creed Humphrey before he handed the ball off to rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who wriggled into the end zone.
Take a look at the tricky play, which was posted by the Chiefs’ official Twitter account:
Though plenty of time remains for New Orleans to make a fourth-quarter comeback, this play by Kelce and Worthy gave Kansas City a ten-point lead when kicker Harrison Butker nailed his extra-point try.
Stay tuned if the Chiefs can advance to 5-0 heading into their bye week.
