Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by police before the team’s Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, his agent and the team confirmed.
According to the Dolphins, Hill was stopped by police near the team’s home stadium during a traffic incident.

Hill was seen on video posted to the social media site X laying face down on the ground as officers placed his hands behind his back and appeared to put handcuffs on him.
Police said in a statement that they were conducting a review of the incident.
Hill, 30, is entering his third season with the Dolphins. He has been at the center of several legal issues dating back to his time in college.
In 2014, Hill was arrested for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend and pleaded guilty to domestic assault.
In 2019, he was investigated by Kansas City police for an alleged battery incident involving his then 3-year-old son, though no charges were filed and the NFL did not discipline Hill.
In 2023, Hill settled with an employee of the Haulover Marine Center in Miami Beach after the employee alleged Hill of assaulting him after a verbal disagreement. No charges were filed and the league declined to discipline Hill.
