MUMBAI: Mihir Shah, the 24-year-old accused in the BMW hit-and-run case that claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman has gone missing just a day after the incident.
The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the suspect.
The BMW car involved in the accident was found abandoned in Kala Nagar, Bandra (east), around 10km from the accident site at around 7am on Sunday.

Authorities were able to locate the vehicle using GPS technology and found the Shah family’s chauffeur, Rishiraj Budwat with the car while Mihir had already fled.
Meanwhile, a CCTV video has emerged, capturing Mihir Shah leaving a Juhu pub at around 1.15am on Sunday in a Mercedes car accompanied by four of his friends prior to the fatal BMW car crash. It is believed that he later went to Marine Drive and the accident took place at 5.25am while he was on his way back.
Deputy commissioner of police Krishnakant Upadhyay stated that the police interrogated the Shah family’s chauffeur, Rajrishri Bidawat.
According to a police source, Mihir and the chauffeur had departed from the Shah’s Borivali house around midnight for a long drive. Upon reaching Marine Drive, Mihir allegedly requested the chauffeur to allow him to take the wheel.
The police have reported that Mihir is currently on the run, and his mother and two sisters are also not at their house, which has been found locked.
The Mumbai Police have formed six teams to nab Mihir and a lookout notice has been issued to prevent him from fleeing the country.
