(Gray News) – John Cena is retiring from WWE.
On Saturday at WWE’s Money in the Bank in Toronto, Cena made a surprise appearance to share his retirement from in-ring competition.
“Why am I here? Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from the WWE,” he said.
Cena will still participate in several competitions next year including Monday Night Raw on Netflix, 2025 Royal Rumble and 2025 Elimination Chamber.
Cena said his last WrestleMania will be in 2025 in Las Vegas.
“Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years,” he said.
WWE shared a video of Cena’s retirement announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter.
In a press conference, Cena said a farewell tour will start next January and run through December.
Cena signed with WWE in 2001.
