Zomato has this ‘bro question’ for Pakistan’s cricket team

Zomato took a jab at the Pakistan cricket team’s performance after its loss to the USA in ICC T20 World Cup cricket match earlier this week. For those unaware, the USA’s national cricket team, which is playing in the Cricket World Cup for the first time ever, defeated Pakistan in Super Over by 5 runs.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the food delivery platform addressed Pakistan as “bro” and asked an important question “sunday ko ad slots le ya na”? The post also questioned the team’s performance at yesterday’s match with the USA.

Zomato rival Swiggy too joined the fun. “lagta hai USA jaa ke zyada burger pizzey kha liye,” said Swiggy in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
The biggest cricket rivalry in the world
India and Pakistan cricket teams have clashed seven times previously in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup matches -– twice in 2007 including the Final, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2021 and 2022. Only in 2009 and 2010, the two teams did they not face off in the marquee Men’s T20 cricket tournament.
In the seven encounters, India has won six times, which includes victories in the epic bowl-out and the finale in 2007 and most recently, Virat Kohli’s sensational run chase in Australia in 2022. Pakistan’s lone win was a dominant one where they broke India’s winning streak in World Cups – both 50-over and 20-over – with a triumph in the 2021 edition in Dubai.
The last time the two teams faced off in the T20 World Cup was in October 2022 inside a packed Melbourne Cricket Stadium in Australia.
