
LUCKNOW: A second-year BA LLB student of a private University in Chinhat area of Lucknow, was allegedly assaulted, abused, and threatened by a group of fellow students inside the campus parking area on August 26. The victim’s father, Mukesh Kumar Kesarwani, a resident of Sootarkhana, Makboolganj under Kaiserbagh police station, lodged an FIR at Chinhat police station on late Friday.According to the complaint, Kesarwani’s son, Shikhar, had gone to attend classes on August 26 when his friend, Soumya Singh Yadav, picked him up from Hanemann crossing in a four-wheeler. As they parked the vehicle at the university, a group comprising Ayush Yadav, Jhanvi Mishra, Milay Banerjee, Vivek Singh, and Aryaman Shukla approached and asked to “talk.” All of them then entered Soumya’s car.For nearly 45 minutes, the group allegedly hurled abuses, issued threats, and intimidated Shikhar, who had recently undergone ligament and knee surgery and was still walking with the help of a crutch. When he asked to be allowed to attend his class, Ayush Yadav and Jhanvi Mishra allegedly slapped him 50–60 times, hurled abuses at him and his family, and threatened to kill him.

During the assault, Vivek Singh and Milay Banerjee allegedly recorded videos, which were later circulated on the college campus. The FIR states that Ayush Yadav and Milay Banerjee also snatched Shikhar’s phone, deleted chats, and damaged his device. Before leaving, the accused reportedly warned him not to attend college again or face similar consequences.The victim’s father said his son has been left traumatized and is living under fear. He has requested strict legal action against the accused and sought that the viral video be deleted.SHO, Chinhat, DS Mishra said that an FIR was registered under relevant sections.
