She said TDP MP Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy’s (MSR) testimony to the Enforcement Directorate was the basis for CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest. Sunita Kejriwal detailed how MSR gave a testimony to the ED about meeting Arvind Kejriwal in his office at the Delhi Secretariat to talk about acquiring land for a family charitable trust that he wanted to open.

“Kejriwal ji said that land comes under the LG and asked to put in an application,” said Sunita Kejriwal before adding, “The ED did not like MSR’s answers. A few days later, Magunta’s son Raghava Reddy was arrested by the ED. More testimonies were taken from MSR but he kept repeating his initial testimony because that was the truth and his son’s bail kept getting rejected.”

She also alleged that the mounting pressure on MSR’s family led to MSR’s elderly mother falling ill and caused Raghava Reddy’s wife to attempt to take her own life. “MSR broke down because of these circumstances and on July 17, 2023, MSR changed his testimony to the ED,” said Sunita Kejriwal.

According to Sunita Kejriwal, the new testimony stated that MSR met Kejriwal for four to five minutes in his office, with roughly a dozen people present. There, Kejriwal allegedly asked MSR to open a liquor business instead and pay the AAP Rs 100 crore in exchange.

“Why would he ask for money from a stranger on their first meeting in front of 10-12 other people? It’s obvious that MSR and his family were tormented for five months, which is why he gave false testimony to save his son,” said Sunita Kejriwal.

CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21, after receiving nine summons from the ED for the investigation of the liquor policy scam. The ED alleged that the AAP would sell liquor licenses to vendors and receive hefty kick-backs from them. They also accused the Delhi CM of money laundering after receiving huge sums of money from a liquor group.

On June 21, the Delhi High Court stayed a bail order for Arvind Kejriwal after the CBI decided to look into the money-laundering case linked to the excise policy case separately.

Reacting to Sunita’s message, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said it was “shocking” to see her “casting aspersions on the judiciary”.“… It’s shocking to note that she wants Delhiites to believe when MP M S Reddy was giving a true statement, the court didn’t allow bail to his son,” he alleged.

Reddy hasn’t yet responded to the claims.
