HYDERABAD: A techie addicted to online gaming ended his life allegedly due to pressure from recovery agents of a loan app to clear his debts at his home in Karimnagar on Wednesday.
P Karthik (26), who was employed with a Hyderabad-based IT giant, was found dead by his parents on their return from Tirupati. The parents also found a message on his phone mentioning that he had taken loans from various people, including a loan app.He also mentioned that recovery agents of the loan app were threatening him to pay up.

Karthik had arrived at his home in Jammikunta after his parents had called him to accompany them to Tirupati. Though he went home, he decided to stay back while his parents left for Tirupati. On Tuesday, while his parents were in Tirupati, Karthik called up his father for ₹50,000. His father reportedly quizzed him on why he needed the money and assured him that he would talk to him after returning home. But by the time Karthik’s parents arrived home on Wednesday, he had ended his life.
Police have started investigations based on the messages on his phone demanding that the loan amounts be repaid.
