FAYETTEVILLE — Two years of floundering late-game performances lacking a signature victory finally reached the breaking point for Arkansas football Saturday night.
The Razorbacks (4-2, 2-1 SEC) erased a two-score deficit in the second half and rallied past No. 4 Tennessee 19-14 for their first home victory over a top-five team since 1999.
Malachi Singleton, taking over for Taylen Green after the starting quarterback left with an injury early in the fourth quarter, scored the game-winning touchdown on an 11-yard run with 1:17 remaining.
It was Arkansas’ defense that won the game. Tennessee entered the night leading the country in scoring offense and ranked third in yards per game, but the Volunteers (4-1, 1-1) couldn’t find any success outside of two touchdown drives to start the third quarter. They managed just 332 yards of total offense.
