WSSU Football Renews Rivalry Against NC A&T State University Saturday Night

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University football team renews an old-school rivalry as the Battle of I-40 returns.

The Rams will travel to Greensboro, North Carolina, on September 7th, to take on North Carolina A&T State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. inside Truist Stadium.

Last Time vs. Bluefield State 
The Rams cruised to a 34-3 victory last Saturday, August 31st. Daylin Lee went 12-for-22 with two passing touchdowns. Justin Fleming recorded his sixth career interception as he returned a pick-six for a 53-yard touchdown. Terrell Chance led the way with seven tackles. 

Last Time NC A&T vs Wake Forest 

The Aggies fell to Wake Forest University 45-13, on Thursday, August 29th. Kenji Christian rushed for 121 rushing yards with a rushing touchdown.

Last Time vs. NC A&T 

14 years ago, the Rams defeated the Aggies 21-14 on September 4th, 2010. Now, Hall of Famer, Kameron Smith led the Rams to victory on a 65-yard and game-winning touchdown on the final drive en route to propelling the victory.

• The Rams’ new Offensive Coordinator, Glenn Reese used to coach for the Aggies two seasons ago, and assistant wide receivers coach, Zach Leslie played and graduated from North Carolina A&T. His final season with the Aggies was during 2022.
• The legendary Coach Bill Hayes coached the Rams from 1976-87 and also coached at North Carolina A&T from 1988-2002. With the Rams, he had NCAA Division II playoff appearances and at NCAT he had NCAA Division I-AA appearances.
• 11 WSSU players are from the Greensboro area.
