Barcelona Pedri has been hit with yet another injury blow after being forced off with a problem in the opening minutes of Spain’s Euro 2024 clash with Germany.
The midfielder was named in the starting XI but went off in the opening 10 minutes after a really poor challenge from Toni Kroos.
The Real Madrid midfielder went in late, high and strongly on Pedri and left him in a heap on the pitch. Rather surprisingly, the match referee opted not to show him a yellow card.
Pedri initially tried to carry on but went down again moments later and had to be replaced by Dani Olmo.
Ferran Torres and Pedri’s other Spain team-mates were quick to console the Barca star after he made his way off the pitch looking clearly upset.
It remains to be seen the nature of Pedri’s injury but let’s hope it’s not serious and he can be back in action soon.
