Travis Kelce’s team is shutting down rumors that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Taylor Swift have a breakup contract.
Documents about a media plan for the couple in the event that they split reportedly surfaced online. The paperwork was allegedly printed with the logo for Full Scope, the public relations company that represents Kelce. TODAY.com has not independently confirmed the documents.
However, as news of the reported breakup plan made its way online, the NFL star’s reps called the documents “false and fabricated.”
“These documents are entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued, or authorized by this agency,” a spokesperson for Full Scope told TODAY.com on Sept. 4. “We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.”
Kelce and the pop star have been dating since summer of 2023.
Since their big debut — when she attended her first Chiefs game to support Kelce on Sept 24, 2023 — the football player has shared insight on their love story. In June, Kelce revealed on an episode of the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast when he started to fall for the superstar.
Kelce began by saying how he admired Swift for being “very self-aware,” adding, “I think that’s why I really started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around just like friends, family.”
“It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention, and she just keeps it so chill and so cool,” he said.
Most recently, during a Sept. 3 interview on “The Rich Eisen Show,” he recalled performing with Swift on stage during her “Eras Tour” show.
“I’m always down to have some fun on stage with Tay Tay,” Kelce said, revealing his nickname for his girlfriend. He also joked that Swift is helping him draw up plays for his games.
“She is a little biased and creates plays just for me, so we’ll see if they can make it to coach Reid’s office,” he said.
Swift, on her end, has attended more than a dozen Chiefs games, with fans hoping she makes an appearance at the team’s Sept. 5 home game.
She also famously changed her “Karma” lyrics, calling out “the guy on the Chiefs,” and even spoke about supporting each other when she was named Time’s 2023 Person of the Year.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said, later adding, “We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple,” she said. “I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard-launch a first date.”
