Barbie is apparently entering her golden years, and Krispy Kreme is celebrating the iconic doll’s 65th birthday with the “Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection” menu drop.
This is at least the second Barbie-related drop, and follows the Barbie x Stanley Collection drop which occurred in early August.
Krispy Kreme is releasing a limited-edition run of specialty doughnuts in honor of Barbies’ 65th anniversary, and here’s everything Barbie and doughnut fans alike need to know about the menu, including how to try the new items.
The Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection includes four new specialty doughnuts, according to the Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection press release.
Each doughnut also comes decorated with a Barbie-themed topping.
Six- and 12-packs of the Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection doughnuts will come packaged in a collector’s-edition box.
The Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection is available now at Krispy Kreme locations and retailers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
You can find the Krispy Kreme retailer nearest you by using the location finder on Krispy Kreme’s website.
While Krispy Kreme drops its Barbie x Krispy Kreme Collection to celebrate Barbie’s 65th Anniversary, Barbie was actually “born” on March 9, 1959, according to Barbie Media.
Barbie’s full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts, and the iconic doll has had several lifetimes’ worth of careers and achieved several firsts.
“Barbie has had over 250 inspirational careers including astronaut, pilot, firefighter, journalist, and entrepreneur to name a few,” read Barbie Media’s Barbie fact page. “Barbie traveled into space in 1965, four years before man walked on the moon, and in 1992, Barbie ran for president for the first time and has run in nearly every election year since.
“In 2016, she ran with the first all-female ticket,” continued Barbie fact file. “In 1973, Barbie saved lives as a surgeon, at a time when very few women were in the operating room. In 1985, she took to the boardroom as ‘Day to Night’ CEO Barbie, just as women began to break the glass ceiling.”
