How Renukaswamy’s blood on girlfriend Pavithra Gowda’s slippers triggered Darshan’s rage; murder chargesheet reveals chilling details | Bengaluru News

Actor Darshan’s girlfriend Pavithra Gowda allegedly incited violence against S Renukaswamy for sending obscene messages. Renukaswamy was kidnapped and killed by Darshan and his aides. The chargesheet details involvement of 17 accused individuals with extensive evidence collected.

BENGALURU: “Bidabedi ivananna, paata kalasi ivanige, ivana antoru irbardu, (Don’t spare him, teach him a lesson, people like him should not exist),” actor Darshan’s girlfriend Pavithra Gowda allegedly told her boyfriend and his aides at a parking yard in Pattanagere, RR Nagar, on June 8, when she came face to face with S Renukaswamy. The Chitradurga resident, who had sent her obscene messages on Instagram, had been abducted and brought before her from his hometown.
Pavithra is said to have used her slippers to hit Renukaswamy who had already been assaulted by his abductors, according to the chargesheet filed in the case on Wednesday.
Officials said the document noted that the blood stains on Renukaswamy’s face stained Pavithra’s slippers. This enraged Darshan and others, who became wild and assaulted him to death.
Exchange on Instagram
Police have collected the details of Renukaswamy’s messages to Pavithra on Instagram. He had created a fake name ‘Goutham_KS_1990’.
Quoting from the chargesheet, a senior officer said Renukaswamy had texted Pavithra on her Instagram handle ‘pavitragowda777_official’ eight days before his abduction. Renukaswamy insisted that she leave Darshan and be with him. He sent her obscene messages about her physical appearance, claimed that he had become her fan, and invited her for physical intimacy. He also sent her his photos, including of his genitals.
This made Pavithra furious, and she informed her manager Pavan about the messages. Pavan texted Renukaswamy, impersonating a woman, and extracted his details. Later, he informed Darshan and Raghavendra, the president of Darshan’s fans association in Chitradurga district about it. Raghavendra teamed up with others and kidnapped Renukaswamy and brought him to the parking yard in RR Nagar.
Darshan, who was partying at the Stonny Brook restaurant in Rajarajeshwarinagar, was informed about it. He left the restaurant, picked Pavithra from her house, and went to the yard. Raghavendra not only kidnapped Renukaswamy but also assaulted him and disposed of the body with the help of others near a drain in Kamakshipalya, the chargesheet stated.
Eyewitnesses & documents
Police have mentioned that the device used to give electric shock to Renukaswamy’s genitals was a portable megger which was procured online.
Three accused, Nikhil Naik, Keshavamurthy, and Karthik, who had falsely surrendered before police, taking the blame for Renukaswamy’s murder, have been charged with destruction of evidence and criminal conspiracy. The remaining 14 accused are charged with kidnap, murder, destruction of evidence, and criminal conspiracy.
All the 17 accused are in different prisons. Three persons have been identified as eyewitnesses. About 27 people have given their statements under CrPC 164 before the magistrate, and statements of around 97 people have been recorded under CrPC 161 before police.
Police have submitted the reports of the forensic science laboratory in Bengaluru, and the central forensic science laboratory officials. The statements of eight govt officials, including tahsildar, doctors, and regional transport officials, and 56 police personnel, and 59 mahazar (spot inspection) witnesses have been submitted.
Other documents include the accused’s mobile phone data retrieved from FSL, CCTV footage of Darshan and the gang entering and exiting the parking yard, call detail records (CDR), mobile tower location, WhatsApp messages, and photos of the assault. They have also mentioned the money seized from Darshan and other accused persons’ houses in the chargesheet.
The case was investigated by assistant commissioner of police (Vijayanagar sub-division) Chandan Kumar, assisted by police inspectors from Kamakshipalya, CK Acchukattu, Kengeri, Govindarajanagar, and Annapoorneshwarinagar police. Some reports are pending from CFSL, Hyderabad. The investigation is continuing under CrPC 173 (8).
