Today (Sept. 4, 2024) global superstar and cultural icon “Queen Bey” turns 43. And the Texan has a lot to celebrate.

Where is Beyoncé from?
Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on Sept. 4, 1981 in Houston, where she also grew up. Her mother, Celestine “Tina” Knowles, is Louisiana Creole and her father, Matthew Knowles, is African American. Tina was a costume designer and hair stylist while Matthew was a professional record manager.
Queen Bey also has a sister, Solange, who is almost five years younger. Solange is also a singer, songwriter and actress. Both sisters showed talents for performance at a young age.
Beyoncé went to Parker Elementary School before attending the Welch Middle School of Fine Arts. She spent her high school years at the Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts as well as Alief Elsik High School.
Beyoncé drops ‘Cowboy Carter’ album, launches ‘SirDavis’ whiskey brand
Queen Bey has had quite the year.
The superstar broke the internet with her “country-influenced” album, “Cowboy Carter.” Two singles on the album, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” during a surprise Super Bowl commercial. Despite her saying “Cowboy Carter” isn’t a country album, both singles shot up the Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Beyoncé made history as the first Black woman to have the number one single on the chart, with “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

Mere weeks ago, Beyoncé once again made national news with the launch of her new whiskey brand, “SirDavis.” The superstar explained the brand is intended to honor her great-grandfather, whose first name is Davis, and her love of whiskey.
