– It was previously speculated to be called the Bruzer
– Bajaj might bring back the Freedom nameplate
– All details to be out tomorrow, 5 July
Bajaj Auto is all set to launch the world’s first CNG motorcycle tomorrow, 5 July. Although it was speculated to be called the Bruzer, our recent findings suggest that it will bring back the Freedom nameplate that was used by LML for one of its motorcycles before it shut shops in India.
The bike might also carry the ‘125’ suffix signifying its engine displacement. As per a recent teaser released by Bajaj, the Freedom 125 will have a dedicated button to toggle through petrol and CNG modes. This bi-fuel motorcycle will mostly be available in two variants, as has been hinted by the spy shots. The more affordable trim will perhaps sport simpler paint schemes and fewer features than the pricier variant.
We believe the prices of the Bajaj Freedom 125 will start from slightly over Rs. 90,000 and go up to Rs. 1 lakh. It could be positioned between entry-level 125cc motorcycles like the Honda Shine 125 and the more premium offerings such as the TVS Raider 125. Bajaj has a record of pricing its motorcycles aggressively and the new Pulsar 400 is the most recent example of that.
Bajaj will be releasing the detailed specifications of the CNG bike in just a few hours and we’ll be riding the motorcycle soon to tell you how it fares in the real world. Stay tuned!
