Election Day is Tuesday, and while many people will focus on getting to their polling places and casting their votes, others will be balancing regular errands, like picking up dry cleaning or going to the bank. Although Election Day is not a federal holiday, some states do observe it as one. Many state offices will close, and 24 states, along with the District of Columbia, offer paid time off to vote. Other states provide time off for voting but without pay.
Here’s what to know about Election Day.
Branches of Bank of America, Truist, PNC, Capital One, Wells Fargo and other banks will be open their regular hours on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Other banking services, such as ATMs and online banking, should also be available as usual on Election Day.
