A heart-shaped crown hanging from the proscenium—which called to mind the tiara Roan wears on the cover of The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess—was also incorporated into both scenes.
“We needed to find a way to combine the two sets because of the quick change between the two,” Jones says. “It was really fun and interesting to see what would come up creatively, trying to find the common denominators between the two.”
