The spookiest month of the year is here, and McDonald’s is celebrating by bringing back its special Halloween buckets.
McDonald’s isn’t the only fast-food restaurant celebrating Halloween, though. Burger King and Wendy’s have also announced special treats for the holiday.
Here’s a quick roundup of where you can grab McDonald’s Halloween Boo Buckets, indulge on Burger King’s Addams Family menu and grab some spooky toys at Wendy’s.
The McDonald’s Halloween Boo Buckets are arguably one of the most popular Halloween items in recent years, and now they’re back — or they will be soon.

The Monster Boo Buckets will replace McDonald’s classic Happy Meal box starting on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
How much will they cost? Like most McDonald’s, the price will vary by individual restaurant and location.
To grab one, all you have to do is order your favorite Happy Meal, either directly at a restaurant or through the mobile app. Since the Boo Buckets are replacing the traditional Happy Meal boxes, you don’t need to worry about selecting any special options, though they’ll only be available as supplies last.
McDonald’s is shaking up its color scheme for this year’s Boo Buckets. As of 2023, there will be white, orange and green buckets. But this year, blue buckets will replace purple buckets from last year.
Last year’s Boo Buckets also resembled classic monsters, including Monster, Skeleton, Mummy and Vampire. This year’s models are more amorphous, giving kids the ability to outfit them as they like with enclosed stickers.
Starting on Oct. 10, Burger King will join the Halloween fun by launching a limited-time menu inspired by the Addams Family, complete with purple buns.
The restaurant said that the menu is meant to delight both kids and adults. It features churro fries, a new chocolate milkshake, special onion rings and a purple Whopper. Here’s a more detailed look:
Gomez’s Churro Fries: These spooky churros are strips of fried pastries covered in cinnamon sugar and served with a side of chocolate dipping sauce. The item was inspired by Gomez, who has a Spanish origin.
Morticia’s Kooky Chocolate Shake: Inspired by Morticia, this shake features chocolate batter fudge, and it’s finished with black and purple cookie pieces.
Thing’s Rings: Everyone’s favorite disembodied hand is the inspiration for Thing’s Rings, which are onion rings placed in themed packaging.
Wednesday’s Whopper: The most visually striking item on the new menu is definitely Wednesday’s Whopper. It’s everyone’s favorite combination of a beef patty, lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, pickles and onions placed in between a unique purple potato bun with black sesame seeds.
In September, Wendy’s announced a special Frosty Frights kid’s meal collection featuring Wendy’s classic and a collection of spooky-themed characters inspired by its frosty treats.
There will be 11 characters to collect, such as Brr Beast, Cold Spell, Franken Frosty, Coolie Ghoulie and plenty of others.
Wendy’s is also bringing back its Boo! Books, available for just $1. The coupon book includes five free Jr. frosty treats, plus another coupon that can be redeemed for a Wendy’s kiddie meal worth $1.
The Frosty Frights kid’s meal collection is already on sale and will be available through Nov. 3. Boo! Books coupons can be redeemed through Dec. 31, 2024.
