Save the Missing Child
Arriving in the furnace room, Sam will notice a baby crib in the distance and will be faced with two choices immediately.

| Sam must pass a skill check and dodge an object falling from the roof as he gets halfway up the ramp.
Sam will dodge the object and continue up the ramp if you pass the skill check. If you fail the skill check, the object will crash through the floor below you, causing Sam to encounter another skill check as he attempts to pull himself back onto the platform. It’s worth noting that we failed both skill checks but did not notice any negative effects. |

| As Sam reaches the top of the ladder, he must pass a skill check and dodge an object falling from the roof.
If you pass the skill check, Sam will dodge the object and continue forward. However, like the Ramp, if you fail the skill check, the object will crash through the floor below you, causing Sam to button mash to pull himself back onto the platform. It’s worth noting that we failed both skill checks but did not notice any negative effects. |

Making it up to the platform near the baby crib, Sam will soon be ambushed by a masked man who will push him up onto the railing. As you’re pinned on the railing, attempt to punch the figure by aligning the reticle to the glint on his mask.
A tussle will break out upon doing so, and you’ll quickly be faced with another skill check. If you succeed and did not break your torch in the first skill check earlier, Sam will have the chance to blind the man with his torch by aligning the reticle to his eye.
However, if you fail the skill check when pressed against the railing, the man will overpower Sam and push his finger into his eye, damaging his vision and sending him straight to the ground.
Whether you passed the skill checks or not, Sam will eventually end up on the ground after further tussling. As he’s on the ground, he attempts to crawl over to his gun but is stopped before he can reach it. The man, who we can only assume is Frank Stone, will then pick up Sam and proceed to impale him onto a nearby furnace pipe, leaving him suspended on the wall.
