Google CEO Sundar Pichai has this ‘special message’ on T20 World Cup coming to the US

Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who is an avid cricket fan, is thrilled about the 2024 ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Pichai said that he is excited ‘to see my favorite sport growing globally.’
In the post, he also wished good luck to all the teams participating in the world cup tournament. The 2024 ICC T20 Men’s Cricket World Cup started June 1, 2024.This year, a record 20 teams are participating. In another first, the tournament is co-hosted by the US for the first time along with West Indies.

Pichai often tweets about cricket. During an India-Pak T20 match in World Cup 2022, Pichai tweeted a Happy Diwali message, saying “Happy Diwali! Hope everyone celebrating has a great time with your friends and family. I celebrated by watching the last three overs again today, what a game and performance”.
In 2023, Pichai congratulated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for victory in the 2023 edition of Indian Premier League, Tata IPL 2023. “Some final that one! Great #TATAIPL as always and congrats to CSK! and GT will be back stronger next year!”.

Google doodle celebrated T20 Cricket World Cup

Google created a special doodle to mark the beginning of the cricket tournament. “This Doodle celebrates the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup! This tournament is the ninth edition since it started in 2009. The United States is the host nation this year, and a record 20 teams from around the world will compete on the big stage. The tournament starts today,” reads a Google Doodle webpage.
“The teams are divided into four groups of five for the group stage, and face off against every other country in their group once. The ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup gives the best men’s cricketers in the world the opportunity to show off their skills and represent their nation. Good luck to all of the teams competing this year!,” it adds.
