College football live scores, games: Ohio State at Penn State, Duke at Miami and more

2024-11-03 00:20:02

Week 10 isn’t set up to be a banger, but upsets are always lurking on weekends like this.

No. 3 Penn State hosts No. 4 Ohio State in a pivotal Big Ten matchup to kick off the day. The Buckeyes already have a conference loss, so another one on Saturday would be crippling in their hunt for the Big Ten title. As for the Nittany Lions, everybody is aware of James Franklin’s struggles in big-time matchups. A win over Ohio State would be huge for him and it’d go a long way toward securing a playoff spot for PSU.

Here are the biggest games late on Saturday. (Scroll down to follow the action live.)

Time: 3:30 p.m. | TV: CBS | Line: Oregon -14.5 | Total: 45.5

Is this the biggest game remaining for the Ducks? Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel is one of the betting favorites for the Heisman Trophy and the Ducks haven’t scored fewer than 31 points against an FBS opponent this season. Michigan star cornerback Will Johnson will reportedly miss the game. The Wolverines went back to Davis Warren at QB, but have struggled scoring points regardless of who is under center.

Time: 7:30 p.m. | TV: ESPN | Line: Clemson -10.5 | Total: 62.5

Week 10 is a great chance to check in on Clemson if you haven’t watched the Tigers much since their Week 1 blowout loss to Georgia. QB Cade Klubnik is now the No. 5 favorite for the Heisman and the receiving corps is deep. Cardinals QB Tyler Shough has thrown for 2,348 yards through eight games and has 20 TDs and five interceptions.

Time: 8 p.m. | TV: ACC Network | Line: SMU -7.5 | Total: 58.5

The Panthers got some good news Wednesday when coach Pat Narduzzi said QB Eli Holstein would be able to play against the Mustangs. SMU is dealing with its own QB injury issues. Kevin Jennings is officially listed as questionable but says he’ll be ready to go Saturday in what’s a massive game in the ACC standings.

  • PSU gets ball back

The Nittany Lions will have a crack at taking the lead after a second Abdul Carter sack stopped Ohio State in their tracks.

  • Touchdown Miami!

The Hurricanes get one right back with a rapid response touchdown drive. After two beautiful catches by Jacolby George, Cam Ward finds Xavier Restrepo in the end zone on a short TD pass. The Canes went for 2 and got it.

    Duke 28, Miami 25

  • Penn State adds FG

The Nittany Lions’ drive fizzles out on the edge of the red zone and they settle for a field goal.

    OSU 17, PSU 13

  • Touchdown Duke!

The Blue Devils extended their lead coming out of the halftime break after a 6-yard touchdown pass from Maalik Murphy to Jordan Moore on fourth down, but the Hurricanes are moving the ball with ease on the ensuing drive.

  • Penn State on the move

The Nittany Lions are starting to open up the playbook a little bit. They’re over midfield after a 24-yard chunk play from Drew Allar to Harrison Wallace.

  • OSU tacks on FG

The Buckeyes’ first drive of the second half yields 3 points as Jayden Fielding kicks a 46-yard field goal.

    OSU 17, PSU 10

We are back for the second half and the Buckeyes are over midfield already.

  • Scoreboard update

Here’s where things stand as the first wave of games hits halftime:

    Scoreboard update

  • INTERCEPTION OHIO STATE!

What a wild way to end the half in State College. Penn State appeared to have a score just before the break, but OSU’s Davison Igbinosun pulled it away from the receiver in the end zone for a touchback.

It’s still 14-10 at the break.

  • Duke takes lead on Miami

Meanwhile, in Coral Gables, the Blue Devils are leading the Hurricanes just before halftime after Maalik Murphy found Peyton Jones for this short touchdown pass.

  • PSU gets it back

The Nittany Lions have the ball just over midfield. They’re trailing 14-10 with under 2 minutes left in the first half.

  • PSU punts back to OSU

Will Howard’s fumble appeared to be a huge momentum shift in the game, but Ohio State’s defense held strong on the ensuing possession and the Buckeyes will have it back with just over 3 minutes left in the half.

  • OSU’s Will Howard fumbles into end zone!

Will Howard took a designed run around the outside but fumbled the ball as he was contacted right before the end zone.

It was initially ruled a touchdown, but the ball was clearly out before he reached the end zone and went over the pylon for a touchback. It was reviewed and overturned.

It’ll be Penn State ball at its own 20.

  • OSU converts on fourth down

The Buckeyes are on the move again and just converted on a fourth-and-1 at midfield with just over nine minutes left in the second quarter.

  • Duke ties it up at Miami

The Blue Devils aren’t backing down in Manny Diaz’s return to Miami. Maalik Murphy just found Sahmir Hagans on a short route and the receiver did the rest from there, running for a 27-yard touchdown to tie the game at 14.

  • Ole Miss rolling early

With these two deep balls from Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart (both 60-plus yards), the Rebels are firmly in control in their SEC clash against Arkansas.

  • Touchdown Ohio State!

Will Howard finds Brandon Inniss on a short crossing route and the running back does the rest from there, running it in for a 21-yard touchdown to give the Buckeyes the lead.

The drive was kept alive on controversial penalty call, this time an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Penn State (see below).

    OSU 14, PSU 10

  • Duke WR makes wild sideline grab

We’ve already seen one incredible catch in the ACC showdown between Miami and Duke. This one may be even better. Duke cut into Miami’s lead with a TD on the next play.
