Team USA star Sha’Carri Richardson is a Dallas native who attended Carter High School in Oak Cliff.
The sprinter will be going for gold in the 100m dash and started her journey in the Paris Olympics today, Aug. 2. She won her 100m opening heat with ease and will compete in the semifinal round on Saturday.
Richardson is far from home in Paris, but recently shared her favorite spots to grab some food in Dallas in an interview posted to Instagram by NBC.
Richardson goes for Golden Chick for chicken tenders. The chain was founded just south of Austin in 1967, but now is headquartered in Richardson and has over 200 locations across the southern U.S.
Richardson shouted out Big T Plaza in Oak Cliff as her favorite place for a slice of pizza. “If you know, you know Dallas,” she said.
Big T Plaza is a 1-level shopping center with various stores for apparel, jewelry & hair braiding located off Village Fair Dr.
For a burger, Richardson said she’s going to Blackjack Pizza, which the Dallas Observer said has “one of the most slept-on burgers in Dallas.”
For Tacos, her spot is Fuel City Tacos. Fuel City is just south of downtown on Riverfront Blvd. and offers quick, budget-friendly street tacos.
“There’s so many places, that’s why when I got home I have to control myself,” Richardson said.
She also shouted out Carter High School as her “place to have a good cry.”
“If I’m back home, and I want to unwind and be to myself, I’m going to my home track, from my high school,” Richardson said. “I’m gonna go back to my home track and just sit there and take in the beginning and look at where I am now.”
