2024-07-03 22:40:02

CMF, a sub-brand of the London-based tech company Nothing, shared the first look of its debut smartphone — the CMF Phone 1 — on Wednesday.

The highlight of the smartphone is its customisable design that allows users to personalise it based on their preferences and functionality.

“The CMF Phone 1 stands out with its unique, adaptable nature, inviting users to take on a co-designer role with its interchangeable accessories and covers. This adaptability allows users to truly make the CMF Phone 1 their own, reflecting personal style and preferences,” the company said in a release.

It will be available in four colours — Black, Orange, Light Green, and Blue. The Black and Light Green options feature a subtly textured case, while Blue and Orange have a vegan leather layer.

Vishal Bhola, president, Nothing India, confirmed that Mandanna will be the face of the brand will be featured in digital, print, and TVC campaigns.

The CMF Phone 1 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and feature up to 16GB of RAM. Rumours suggest that it will be an 8GB+8GB setup, with 8GB being virtual RAM.

It will have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 2,000 nit peak brightness.

The main camera on the back is said to be a 50MP Sony sensor on a dual setup. The secondary camera will be a portrait camera unlike the Nothing smartphones which have an ultrawide sensor. Details about the selfie shooter were not shared. However, rumours suggest that it could be 16MP.

It will also pack a 5,000 mAh battery which, CMF claims, can give up to two days of usage and 22 hours of YouTube streaming.

The device is expected to be priced at under ₹20,000 and will be sold exclusively through Flipkart in India.

Scheduled for launch on July 8 at 2.30 pm, the CMF Phone 1 debut will be livestreamed on cmf.tech. The Watch Pro 2 and Buds Pro 2 will also be launched alongside the smartphone.
