BENGALURU: Ahead of the counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections, former minister HD Revanna performed pujas at several temples on Sunday, praying for his son Prajwal Revanna to be reelected as Hassan MP. Both father and son are embroiled in a sex scandal case.
Since Prajwal is in jail, Revanna, Holenarasipura MLA, performed pujas with his son’s ID card.He visited the Deveshvara temple in Haradanahalli, the Shri Lakshminarasimha temple in Holenarasipura, and other temples in the taluk.
At the Mavinakere Ranganatha Swamy temple, a puja was performed for the ID cards of Prajwal’s election agents, which were kept in a sealed envelope. Revanna later held a meeting with his supporters at his residence in Haradanahalli. Speaking to reporters, Revanna, who is out on bail, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi “must return for a third term for the sake of the country.” He emphasized that victory for the BJP and Modi is “necessary for the country’s survival.”
He was also confident that NDA candidate K Vivekananda would emerge victorious in the MLC election for the South Teachers’ constituency in the council. “The education sector received the highest support during HD Kumaraswamy’s tenure as CM,” Revanna remarked. He highlighted the contributions of the Kumaraswamy government, including the establishment of new schools and colleges and financial support of over Rs 4,000 crores.
He declined to answer questions regarding Prajwal’s case. Hassan MLA Swaroop Prakash accompanied Revanna on his temple visits.
