Fortnite Launching a Free Juice WRLD Skin, His Mom Reacts

2024-11-02 18:45:03

Ever wanted to play Fortnite with Juice WRLD? The game is honoring the late rapper and Fortnite fan (born Jarad Anthony Higgins) with a skin that will be free for a limited time. All players who log in between November 30 at 1 a.m. ET and December 1 at 1 a.m. ET will receive the “cel-shaded Slayer Juice WRLD Outfit” as a way of paying tribute to “Juice’s legacy and love for Fortnite,” per an official blog post. That means the skin will be available about a week after his latest posthumous album, The Party Never Ends, drops on November 22. (If you miss the window to get it for free, you can still purchase it afterwards.)

The news was teased at the end of the Chapter 2 Remix trailer, which also featured appearances from Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Ice Spice. 999, a number that was significant to Juice WRLD, shows up on an empty chair. It also appears in clouds, along with a silhouette of his head. “Jarad always loved to play Fortnite – it was more than just entertainment for him, it was a way to connect with others,” his mom, Carmella Wallace, said in a statement about the collaboration, per Sports Illustrated. “From a young age, video games were a part of how he bonded with friends and family, and being in Fortnite is an incredible tribute to that connection. I know he would be overjoyed to see how his love for games continues to bring people together across different spaces, just like his music does.”
