“It was a surprise to all of us and this is special as the first day of the month is usually busy as we have billings, payroll closures, etc. But it was decided to declare the day off, as Team India put in a great effort, and this is our small tribute to the boys,” reported Moneycontrol quoting Prasadh MS, head of workforce research at Xpheno.
How others celebrated India’s win
The ICC T20 World Cup tournament was co-hosted by West Indies and USA from June 1 to June 29. Showing a strong performance throughout the tournament, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final.
Tech CEOs –Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella and Vijay Shekhar Sharma are among many who shared their joy over India’s win. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said “What a game, could barely breathe, everything that makes sports incredible. Congrats India, so well deserved! SA was incredible. Amazing #WorldT20.”
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella applauded the Indian cricket team for its performance on X (formerly Twitter). “What a final!!! Congrats, India, and well played, South Africa. Super World Cup… let us have more cricket in the West Indies and USA!!,” posted Nadella.
Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma congratulated the Indian cricket, by sharing a video snippet on X, capturing Captain Rohit Sharma’s reaction to the win. In the post, he writes “Perfect expression of the champion leader. Also, Virat leaves T20 international at a high. Perfect timing.”
