The impending nuptials of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant have captivated public attention with their extravagant celebrations. Among the events organized by the Ambani family, one standout is a mass wedding planned for underprivileged couples. Initially slated for Swami Vivekanand Vidyamandir in Palghar, this charitable event has now been relocated to Thane.
Scheduled for July 2, 2024, at 4:30 PM, the venue was recently shifted to Reliance Corporate Park in Thane, now set to commence at 4 PM on the same day. This adjustment ensures a seamless continuation of festivities without interruption.
Anant Ambani, the youngest scion of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, will tie the knot with Radhika Merchant in a lavish ceremony on July 12, 2024, in Mumbai. The celebrations commenced with a private puja at the Ambani residence, Antilia, on June 29. Reflecting the family’s penchant for grandeur, the pre-wedding festivities kicked off with a luxurious cruise party from Italy to France, culminating on June 1. Earlier in March, a grand pre-wedding gala in Jamnagar hosted around 1,000 guests, including luminaries from various fields.
The wedding invitation itself, shared by a guest, is adorned with intricate embroidery depicting Lord Vishnu’s abode, Vaikuntha, and plays a Vishnu mantra when opened. Inside, a golden book includes detachable frames featuring Lord Ganesha and Radha Krishna, complemented by personalized touches like handwritten notes, a ‘travel mandir,’ and handcrafted pashmina shawls from Kashmir.
The main wedding events will span three days at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai:
- July 12, 2024: Shubh Vivaah
- July 13, 2024: Shubh Aashirwad
- July 14, 2024: Mangal Utsav, the wedding reception
The mass wedding for underprivileged couples stands as a notable highlight of the Ambani family’s pre-wedding celebrations. Demonstrating their commitment to philanthropy, this initiative aims to allow deserving couples to celebrate their union in grandeur, which might otherwise be beyond their means.
