‘Will shave my head if…’: AAP’s Somnath Bharti on exit polls | Delhi News

2024-06-02 06:57:15

NEW DELHI: AAP leader Somnath Bharti has made a bold statement, declaring that he will shave his head if Narendra Modi secures the prime minister’s position for a third consecutive term. Bharti, who is contesting from the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, expressed confidence that the exit polls predicting a BJP victory will be proven wrong on June 4 when the results are announced.
In a post on X, Bharti, who is contesting from the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, dismissed the exit poll predictions.

“I will shave off my head if Mr Modi becomes PM for the third time. Mark my word! All exit polls will be proven wrong on 4th June and Modi ji will not become prime minister for the third time,” Bharti stated.

He further claimed that all seven seats in Delhi will be won by the INDIA alliance.
“Fear of Mr Modi does not allow exit polls to show him lose. Hence, we all need to wait for actual results scheduled to be delivered on June 4th. People have voted very heavily against BJP,” he added.
AAP leader Somnath Bharti is facing off against BJP’s Bansuri Swaraj, who is the daughter of former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, in the New Delhi constituency. This election marks Ms Swaraj’s debut in the electoral arena.

According to the exit polls conducted in Delhi, the BJP is expected to maintain its stronghold, potentially securing five to seven out of the seven Lok Sabha seats in the city. The BJP has held these constituencies since the 2014 elections.
The AAP and Congress, both members of the INDIA alliance, have fielded candidates in four and three Lok Sabha constituencies respectively within Delhi.
