Fans of 2004 cult film “Napoleon Dynamite” will want to make their way to Doylestown this weekend.
The County Theater, MOM’s Doylestown and animation producer Rob Feldman of Earworm Media are hosting a film screening of “Napoleon Dynamite” at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, with a special meet and greet beforehand with actor Efren Ramirez, who starred as “Pedro” in the 2004 indie comedy.
And there’s no need to stuff your pockets with tots to show your love.
Before the screening, stop by MOM’s for the meet and greet with Ramirez at 2 p.m. and enjoy Napoleon Dynamite-themed menu items from 1–3 p.m., which include Tina, You Fat Lard Tater Tots; Uncle Rico Tots; and a special Your Mom Goes to College Cocktail.
Once you’ve had your fill of tots, head over to the nonprofit County Theater where Ramirez and Feldman will introduce a new kid’s cartoon short “CYKO KO! ‘Surf’s OFF, Cyk!,” an ode to Saturday morning cartoons features the voices of “Napoleon Dynamite”cast members Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez, Tina Majorino, Jon Gries, and Haylie Duff.
The cartoon short will be played on screen before “Napoleon Dynamite,” followed by a Q&A with Ramirez and Feldman after the film.
“Napoleon (Jon Heder) is an awkward high schooler living with his grandma, his equally awkward older brother Kip, and his llama, Tina. Throughout this episodic adventure, Napoleon spars with his uncle Rico and befriends classmates, including the soft spoken Deb, and Pedro, a transfer student from Mexico whom Napoleon supports in his campaign for student body president,” the County Theater said in a press release.
“With its independent spirit and deadpan humor, NAPOLEON DYNAMITE changed the course of comedy in the early aughts.”
