A Mariah Carey Christmas Pop-Up Has Been Wished Into Existence

2024-11-01 22:05:02

Legendary pop diva Mariah Carey is teaming up with Virgin Hotels and Chicago’s friendly neighborhood pop-up specialists, Bucket Listers, on a new holiday experience centered around Carey’s 1994 megahit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”

More specifically, the collaboration involves Carey’s Black Irish, an Irish cream brand launched in 2021. The pop-up, Mariah Carey’s Black Irish Holiday Bar at Virgin Hotels, will start on Friday, November 15, and last through Sunday, December 29. It will take place at Virgin Hotels in Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, New Orleans, and New York City.

A news release describes the pop-up with plenty of Instagram-friendly installation, like a photo-op with a display decorated with a neon “All I Want For Christmas Is You” sign. Folks can dress up in Christmas red and recreate Carey’s iconic Christmas album cover. There’s also a “Letters to Mariah” station, and more.

Drinks include an espresso martini made with Carey’s Black Irish liqueur with a candy cane rim. The drink can be included in an espresso flight, including a white chocolate version topped with cotton candy and glitter. A Cocoa Coffee flavor is topped with red and green glitter sprinkles and edible butterflies.

Bucket Listers is the company that rose from the Saved By The Bell pop-up which started in Chicago and toured nationally. Last year, the group put together an effort with Mattel to celebrate the theatrical release of Barbie with a Malibu Barbie tour that also made stops across the country. They’ve brokered agreements with studios to create officially licensed pop culture experiences, including a Buffy The Vampire Slayer pop-up that started in time for Halloween in Chicago.

The Halloween decorations are still up. Thanksgiving isn’t here. But it’s time to get Mariah’s Christmas anthem stuck in your head. Tickets are on sale now.
