When is rematch vs. Michigan Wolverines?

Arguably one of the most intriguing games of Washington’s first season in the Big Ten will come as the Huskies get to host the defending national champs. We get to see a rematch of last season’s national championship game.

But, well, what makes it interesting is there has been a remarkable amount of roster and coaching staff turnover that has taken place since the last game between the Washington Huskies and the Michigan Wolverines. And while all of the changes on Washington’s sidelines have been discussed at length, Michigan has quite a few new faces on its roster and coaching staff as well.

So, it’s a rematch, but really only between the brands, logos, and fanbases. The head coaches and star players and various assistant coaches from the meeting in January are gone to various other destinations. Still, part of what makes college football great is the way fans are loyal and I, for one, am here to see this matchup.

If nothing else, even if you were able to take away the context of the last meeting between these two teams, this game is a great measuring stick for the Huskies as they get settled into the Big Ten this season.

This game is lined up right in the midst of the 2024 Washington Huskies football schedule. Right in the middle. It’s the sixth game of the season for the Huskies. And it’s going to be interesting to see what both of these teams happen to look like rolling into this matchup. 

It will also be fascinating to see if Washington will be able to get a little bit of revenge for the national championship loss. I, for one, am hoping for that.
