Second World Games launches Fantasy Troop and raises $3M in token presale

Second World Games announced the launch of its Fantasy Troop, a fantasy league for Web3 gaming, integrated into the company’s Second World: New Era game.

Alongside this launch, the company has raised $3 million in a pre-sale for its native Web3 token, $SWIO.

Carlos Cameo, a developer who launched his first game at age 14 and founded his first multimillion-dollar company at 18, cofounded Second World Games in 2022 with Íñigo Cavestany. Around that time, Cameo saw that most crypto games weren’t fun to play.

“I never want to start with money. Games can make a huge profit. But we decided to start this company with one purpose in mind — to create great gameplay,” Cameo, CTO of Second World Games, said in an interview with GamesBeat. “We started creating a mobile game with quality standards of the game industry. That’s why we started hiring professional team of game developers.”

Their vision was to address the deficiencies in the Web3 gaming landscape by creating games that prioritize immersive gameplay over complex crypto mechanics, thereby appealing to a broader audience beyond the niche market. For two years, their dedicated team has worked to realize this vision.

The company launched a hypercasual racing game dubbed Ball Guys in the App Store. The art style in Second World: New Age is based on titles like Supercell’s Clash Royale. You have to build your city and earn rewards based on competition with other players. Then you build an army and start battling others in real-time online battles.

Second World: New Age. Yep, looks like Clash Royale.

Second World: New Era is the second game live from their studio. It’s a free-to-play, competitive strategy game inspired by classics like Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. Leveraging Web3 tech like Immutable zkEVM with Polygon support, players compete globally, earn rewards, and engage in strategic NFT transactions for real monetary gains.

Set on a real-world-inspired planet Earth, Second World: New Era combines city-building and PvP strategy, inviting players to rebuild civilization one city at a time, manage combat decks, and climb leaderboards to earn special rewards.

Second World Games is now introducing “Fantasy Troop,” the first fantasy league for Web3 gaming that combines active gameplay with strategic management. Fantasy Troop integrates seamlessly within Second World: New Era, creating a competitive fantasy sports environment where investors and players collaborate in a dynamic system.

Both effective management and skilled gameplay are essential for winning and earning rewards. Web2 skilled players find their space in this new realm, while Web3 investors manage them, offering lucrative opportunities for both gamers and non-gamers alike, democratizing the space for all enthusiasts.

Fantasy Troop will launch in pilot form the week of June 17, with the $SWIO TGE set for June 26. Pending a successful pilot, the official launch is targeted for July.

The token, $SWIO, has already garnered $3 million in its presale from industry leaders such as Paul Saliba,
CEO of Volpex, and Koh Onozawa, CEO of Bit2Me. It empowers players by linking the studio’s business
performance with the token’s value.

Beyond being a symbol of achievement, $SWIO enhances the gaming experience by allowing players to purchase in-game assets and earn rewards through tournaments and in-game tasks.

Fantasy Troop features

Captains draft teams of ten skilled players to compete for $SWIO. Both players and captains share in the winnings, fostering a collaborative atmosphere and passive income opportunities. Captains allocate resources to players, who then wager on battles.

Then Captains make strategic decisions about hiring, firing, and reallocating funds based on performance. Fantasy Troop maintains fairness and competitiveness with a meticulously balanced matchmaking system, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

The company is based in Estonia, but most of the people are in Madrid. The team has 15 people.
