Keen Games’ survival action roleplaying title Enshrouded has reached three million players. The title has been widely praised for its difficult and the depth of its building system.
Enshrouded debuted at last fall’s Steam Next Fest, where its demo was one of the most played of the show. The title launched into early access on PC on January 24, 2024, where it quickly gained momentum. Enshrouded reached one million players in its first four days and two million about a month after.
Since entering Early Access, Keen has continued to support the title. This includes three major updates and 4 smaller patches to introduce new content to the game.
“After we reached the million players in 4 days, and 2 millions in a month, we’re still amazed at the reception Enshrouded is getting. The game keeps reaching new players through word of mouth, and the trust you have shown in our studio is humbling. As before, we deeply thank you,” the studio said in a press release.

While Enshrouded’s growth has slowed, three million players is a major milestone for Keen Games. In addition to this growing player base, the German developer self-published Enshrouded, a first for the studio. Previously, the developer worked with 505 Games for its prior hit, Portal Knights.
Enshrouded is currently available in Early Access on Steam. The studio plans to fully launch the title on PC, Playstation and Xbox consoles sometime in 2025.
