What Is South Indian Delicacy Pachadi?

Pachadi is the South Indian version of chutney. This accompaniment can be prepared with a variety of different fruits and vegetables, with yoghurt as its main ingredient. Pachadi also consists of a blend of spices and is usually topped with a crackling tadka. It is incredibly easy to prepare and tastes best when paired with steamed rice.

Is Bhindi Pachadi Healthy?

Bhindi pachadi surely meets the criteria for being a healthy side dish. Yoghurt, the key ingredient in this pachadi, is an excellent source of calcium and protein. Bhindi, on the other hand, is rich in dietary fibre, further boosting its nutritional profile. Bhindi pachadi also includes coconut paste, making it even healthier.

The recipe for this bhindi pachadi was shared by the Instagram page @diningwithdhoot. Start by washing the bhindi thoroughly and cutting it into small pieces. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped green chillies and bhindi. Mix well and cook for around 8 to 10 minutes. In the meantime, add grated coconut into a food processor and blend until it forms a smooth paste. Feel free to add a bit of water if you feel it’s not smooth enough. Now, add yoghurt to a large bowl and whisk it well. Add the prepared coconut paste with salt, followed by the cooked bhindi. Finally, prepare a tadka by heating coconut oil with mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chillies. Pour this tadka over the yoghurt mixture and enjoy!
