However, just like any other ingredient, ghee should be consumed correctly to extract maximum benefits. Wondering what these mistakes are? You’ve landed on the right page! Here Are 3 Mistakes You Must Avoid While Consuming Ghee:

According to Ayurvedic doctor Varalakshmi Yanamandra (@drvaraayurveda), if you struggle with gut issues, understand that consuming incompatible food combinations can lead to gut inflammation. Ghee is sweet, heavy, and cold in potency and can balance Vata and Pitta doshas. Here are three mistakes you should absolutely avoid for a happy and healthy gut system:

1. Mixing Ghee with Cold Foods

You might think consuming ghee in any form is beneficial, but it isn’t. Ghee is heavy and sticky. According to the expert, ghee should always be followed by a warm meal or liquid. Consuming ghee with cold water or foods can lead to indigestion and other digestive problems. To make the most of this golden elixir, consume ghee with warm foods.

2. Ghee and Honey

Have you been consuming ghee and honey together? Time to change your habit. According to the expert, ghee and honey in equal quantity can cause several health problems and do not digest well together. Instead, consume them separately for maximum benefits.

3. Consuming Ghee If You Have Digestive Toxins

If you have AMA – a type of digestive toxin linked to gut problems and inflammation – you should not include ghee in your diet. AMA is sticky and heavy, just like ghee. Eating them together disrupts your agni further. Common signs of AMA are a thick white coating on the tongue, lack of enthusiasm, sinking stools, constant fatigue, and no appetite.
