By now, I trust you know how important dental care is to your overall wellness. Keeping a good brush and floss schedule can help ward off bad breath, plaque buildup, gingivitis and even heart disease! Still, knowing what needs to be done is only as good as having the right tools for the job. So behold, the Oral-B IO Series 3 electric toothbrush which aims to remove 400% more plaque from your gums than manual versions. Best of all? This baby is on sale for 25% off today at both Amazon and Target!

With loads of electric toothbrushes on the market, it can be tough to narrow down what offers the best bang for your buck. Given this sale price plus loads of reviewers noting their dentists and hygienists recommended this specific toothbrush, I must say this is likely the one.

The Oral-B IO Series 3 is a straightforward model and reviewers seem to appreciate its simplicity. It doesn’t connect to the internet, give you an X-ray of your mouth or drive you to dentist appointments. The device does feature three smart modes for personalized brushing including Daily Clean, Whiten and Sensitive. There’s a two-minute timer that beeps in 30-second intervals so you know when to switch sides. To help ease gum pain and sensitivities, its pressure sensor will let you know when you should be more gentle. That’s it and that’s all!

“This helps you brush like your dentist tells you to brush, especially the inner sides of your teeth,” one Amazon customer noted. “Just move this over your teeth and it does a better job than I ever did. I love the timer so you get each area really well, and the happy little rainbow of colors once you finish. So easy to use.” Another reviewer shared that their dentist deemed the usually higher-priced electric toothbrushes with more bells and whistles unnecessary for efficacy.

“I feel like I just came home from a trip to the dental hygienist every time I use it, so I’m looking forward to my next check up,” wrote RatherBeReading. “Hopefully they’ll see what I feel – less plaque and cleaner teeth in general.”

Check out more promising reviews of the Oral-B IO Series 3 toothbrush below.

“I’ve had the same Oral B electric toothbrush for at least 20 years. I thought that if it still works, why replace it?! Mine finally died and I grabbed this during Black Friday as it was a basic toothbrush for a reasonable price. Boy have toothbrushes changed in 20 years! I feel like I’m walking out of the dentist office every day, I can’t stop running my tongue over my teeth they are so clean and my gums have never felt better. Highly recommend this toothbrush!!” — TravelMonkey

“My dentist recommended this model. He said there wasn’t a need to buy the more expensive models. This base unit would be fine. It has a sensor that changes from green to red to let you know when you are playing the correct or too much pressure. Charges quickly. The charge last long time. It’s easy to disassemble and clean. There’s markers on the brush portion that will show you when it’s time to replace the head.” — John C.

“My doctor recommended this even though I have the same one up north in another house. I had an old oral B tooth brush for at least ten years and it works fine but I myself noticed the difference with the new IO up north and my old. I bought another for Florida and I am so happy with it. The tarter comes right off and it gets between the teeth too. Love it. Sorry I waited so long to upgrade.” — Amazon Customer

Not only are my teeth getting clean but my gums are getting a soothing massage on the sensitive mode. I have had many of these types over the decades, including water shooting piks, but really, simple is best for this process.” — Tammy Labiche

“This is my 1st electric toothbrush I’ve tried & wish I did this sooner. Highly recommend to anyone. My teeth feel cleaner longer all day!!” — HJ

“I got this for Christmas and I am in love with this toothbrush! It’s MUCH quieter than the Philips Sonicare I had been using (though that is a good brush too, but the price of replacement toothbrush heads is pricey compared to Oral-B, and my periodontist told me that a ROUND BRUSH HEAD is much more effective for removing plaque in hard to reach areas). I like that it doesn’t get angry and shake when I use too much pressure – it just changes color! So much easier to use, and the battery life is LONG. I feel like I just came home from a trip to the dental hygienist every time I use it, so I’m looking forward to my next check up – hopefully they’ll see what I feel – less plaque and cleaner teeth in general. I definitely recommend this toothbrush! FYI, I have the Series 3 Io that is the less fancy and expensive version.” — RatherBeReading
