There are so many practical devices that have gotten a smart tech upgrade over the last few years, and the electric toothbrush is no exception. But if the thought of downloading yet another app for something as simple as a toothbrush stresses you out, consider the ultra-popular Philips Sonicare 1100. It has all the workings of an electric toothbrush — a 2-minute timer to make sure you’re brushing for the dentist-recommended time, a rechargeable battery, a portable design — without requiring much tech savvy to operate it, and right now, it’s on sale at 20% off, knocking its $24.96 price tag down to just $19.96. That makes this entry-level electric toothbrush even more affordable and for a product with over 15,700 5-star ratings, practically a steal.
Reviewer CtheAmazonian puts it aptly: “If you would like a straightforward, rechargeable, electric toothbrush with soft bristles that fits in the nooks and crannies, is well built and low maintenance, this fits the bill!”
The Sonicare 1100 comes with one electric toothbrush, a brush head and a USB standing charger. That rechargeable battery lasts up to a claimed 14 days, and when it’s low on power, it alerts you with a color change.
Reviewers love how slim and easy it is to use, simplifying the brushing experience with the push of a button. “So happy to find this basic unit at a great price,” says LisaBeth. “It’s just one speed with the little beep when it’s time to move to the next quadrant, and that is all I need. It’s slimmer and lighter than my last unit, too. Took it with me on a recent trip and the battery held up fine with no charge for a week. Very happy with this purchase!”

“[…] This toothbrush head also fits all the way to the very back teeth, top and bottom, inside and out. It has an audible timer for 30 second quadrants which is always helpful. […] It is a one-speed situation, and seems to be enough. My teeth are clean when done. ” — CtheAmazonian (This review has been edited for length. Read the full review here.)“I’ve been using Sonicare toothbrushes for years and this 20 dollar model is easily the best I’ve ever had. Why? Because it’s a toothbrush. It has one job. To clean my teeth. And as best I can tell it does that just as well as all the other models I’ve owned. What else does it do? Nothing. No useless modes, no wasteful accessories and, best of all, no added bulk. This thing is thinner, smaller, and so much more comfortable in my hand than any other sonic toothbrush I’ve ever owned.” — Marc S. (This review has been edited for length. “I’ve been using a Sonicare for years and at cleanings the dentist can hardly find any plaque. They seem to last about 3 years. I can’t imagine what features the $100 + models have over this $20 one to make it worth it.” — Randy
“I am in AWE with this toothbrush. I’ve been using a manual one for a while and was way overdue for an upgrade. This toothbrush, being under $30, was one of the best investments I’ve made. To me, it feels well made, and has so many extra features. I absolutely LOVE the 30 second interval timer & how it shuts off after the 2 minutes are up. The charge on the toothbrush also lasted me a long time before I had to go looking for the charger. I haven’t taken this traveling with me yet, but the toothbrush and charger together don’t take up too much room, so I think it’ll be good enough when I eventually do travel! Overall, I am very impressed with this toothbrush & definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something that is comparable to the more expensive brushes, but you’ve got a budget to stick to :)” — Sharon
