Is Chocolate Mousse Healthy?

This depends on the type of ingredients you use to make your chocolate mousse. Typically, chocolate mousse recipes include sugar, heavy cream, and sometimes butter, which gives it a low rating on the nutritional scale. But if you swap these ingredients for better alternatives, it can certainly meet the criteria for a healthy dessert. For instance, in this recipe, there is no use of sugar or cream. It only consists of two ingredients: boiled rice and melted dark chocolate.

What Type Of Chocolate Is Best For Making Chocolate Mousse?

There are no hard and fast rules about the type of chocolate you should use to make mousse. However, if you ask us, we’d recommend choosing dark chocolate with a high cocoa content. This will make your mousse truly chocolaty and indulgent. If you find the taste of dark chocolate too bitter, feel free to use semi-sweet chocolate instead. Avoid using milk chocolate, as it won’t provide that distinct chocolate flavour.

How To Make 2-Ingredient Chocolate Mousse | Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Begin by melting dark chocolate in the microwave, heating it in 30-second intervals until completely melted. In a blender, combine cooked rice, boiled water, and the melted dark chocolate. Blend until you achieve a smooth, velvety mousse-like texture. Pour the mixture into a bowl and refrigerate it for 2 hours until it sets. Once set, dust the top with cocoa powder and enjoy! Your delicious chocolate mousse is ready to be relished!
