On July 29, Jayanti Reddy delved into the rich design heritage of Hyderabad for her opulent traditional wear runway show titled ‘Threads of Legacy’. The ethereal and delicate collection debuted on the runway at Hyundai India Couture Week in New Delhi.
Jayanti Reddy sent around 40 looks down the runway for her latest couture collection at the Taj Palace’s Durbar Hall, the Fashion Design Council of India announced on Facebook. The men’s and women’s couture collection began with a colour palette of silver, blush pink, and ivory then transitioned into leaf greens before vibrant reds then deep blues to offer a broad selection bridal and occasion wear this season.
Women’s looks mixed heavy beading with delicate sheer textiles and capelets gave sarees and lehengas a 1920s twist. Men’s looks featured classic long-line jackets and tempered rich embellishments with sleek tailoring. Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari walked the runway to close the show as Jayanti Reddy’s showstopper wearing a glittering sharara set with intricate beaded motifs.
The 17th edition Hyundai India Couture Week runs from July 24 to 31 at the Taj Palace in New Delhi. The fashion week is an initiative by the Fashion Design Council of India in partnership with Hyundai India and Reliance Brands India and also features brands including Gaurav Gupta, Amit Aggarwal, JJ Valaya, and Dolly J among others.
