World-renowned Italian couturier Giorgio Armani has launched his first real estate project in Brazil. The Armani group, via the interior design studio of the Armani/Casa luxury furnishings line, will collaborate with Patrimar, a Belo Horizonte-based real estate developer with a 60-year-plus experience in the sector, to design and build the residential units, common areas and services for a luxury complex in Brazil’s largest city, Rio de Janeiro.

“I’m very pleased with this new collaboration, which allows me to explore my idea of living in such a unique urban setting as Rio de Janeiro, with its combination of ocean, green spaces and mountains, where natural beauty and urban life meet harmoniously,” said Giorgio Armani, president and CEO of the Armani group, in a press release. “Patrimar has proved to be the ideal partner in giving life to a new expression of my lifestyle philosophy, and of design as an extension of it: a vision in which the Armani style always adapts to the spirit of the environment, and an alliance that marks a significant occasion, consolidating the presence of both partners [in Brazil],” he added.

Armani/Casa was set up exactly 20 years ago, and is present in 29 countries with 40 stores. It will be involved alongside Patrimar right from the project’s initial phase, developing the interiors for the towers’ common areas, as well as defining the details, finishings, furniture and accessories inside the properties, all of them from the Armani/Casa collections.

This new initiative follows on from other residential projects that Armani/Casa has developed and managed in major cities like Miami, London, Dubai, Beijing, Tel Aviv, Manila, Mumbai and Istanbul.

The prestigious Rio de Janeiro complex will consist of four 22-storey towers with 189 residential units in total, and is designed to become an integral part of its natural surroundings. Alongside the luxury residences, other structures will be constructed to ensure the inhabitants enjoy an active, sophisticated lifestyle.

“This partnership represents a milestone for our company and for the luxury real estate market in the country. Together we will create a venture which will become a benchmark in design and quality of life,” said Alex Veiga, CEO of the Patrimar group. Over the years, the group has developed scores of high-end luxury residential and commercial real estate projects in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo. Since it first arrived in Rio de Janeiro, in 2021, the group has sold on average one residential unit per day, generating a revenue of approximately BRL2.5 billion (€408 million).
