The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council highlighted the growth potential of the jewellery industry at the cross-sectoral industry event ‘Ignite Mumbai’. The GJEPC also promoted environmental awareness and introduced the India Jewellery Park in Mahape, Navi Mumbai.
“The vibrant spirit of Ignite Maharashtra 2024 in Thane was truly palpable with 280 passionate individuals coming together to ignite change,” announced the Directorate of Industries, Government of Maharashtra on Facebook. “What a remarkable event!”
The GJEPC’s director of membership Mithilesh Pandey detailed export opportunities available to micro, small, and medium enterprises by utilising courier services, e-commerce, and hand carriage, the GJEPC reported on its website. Pandey also elaborated on the GJEPC’s work towards environmental awareness and promoted its upcoming trade show the India International Jewellery Show and jewellery park.
“He further emphasised the benefits provided to approximately 7.5 lakh artisans through schemes like Swasthya Ratna and Parichay card and outlined GJEPC’s action plan to enable all council members to become exporters,” announced the GJEPC.
The event was held under the chairmanship of Collector Thane and took place on July 19. The trade meet also saw the district collector Ashok Shingare highlight that Thane was the top export district in the Konkan region in the 2024 financial year.
