Denim brand Numero Uno plans to expand into the South Indian market after establishing its core presence in the North of the country. The brick-and-mortar expansion is part of the business’ wider plan to increase its market share and revenue by between 30% and 40% in the coming two years.
“We are actively expanding in the South, adding large-format store counters and many multi-brand outlets,” Numero Uno’s director of marketing and business development Jaiwant S Dhingra told Indian Retailer Bureau. “Soon, we’ll be launching our brand-exclusive stores in those areas as well.”
States where the brand plans to expand include Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana, Apparel Resources reported. The business also aims to tap into rising growth opportunities in Tier 2 and 3 markets by establishing its offline presence in more rural areas. Notably, Numero Uno has seen significant spending power amongst consumers in the northern state of Bihar and is also planning on deepening its market penetration there.
Along with opening stores in new areas, Numero Uno also plans to increase brand awareness and boost customer engagement by pursuing designer collaborations. “We’re definitely keeping an eye open for a good collab that suits both us and the potential partner,” said Dhingra.
