Blake Lively knows how to dress for a theme! The 36-year-old actress stole the spotlight in a pair of jaw-dropping looks for husband Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool & Wolverine premiere and after-party in New York City on Monday.
First, Lively arrived to the Lincoln Center red carpet hand-in-hand with pal Gigi Hadid. She channeled Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth character in a red Atelier Versace jumpsuit with intricate black detailing, while Hadid, 29, offered a high fashion take on Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine suit in a yellow skirt and handkerchief top by Miu Miu.
“I’ve seen this movie quite a few times, and I love it more every time. It really is special,” Lively told ET at the event. “… The amount of millennial girl references in here, you don’t expect that. You think [of a] male superhero movie [and] they’re all kind of about action and testosterone, but not this one.”
Later, Lively and co. switched up their looks for an after-party at Jazz inside Lincoln Center.
The It Ends With Us star opted for a baby blue Balmain minidress adorned with red roses. Reynolds, 47, coordinated with a blue shirt and pants combo that featured a tiny Deadpool & Wolverine pin on his waistline that appears to have been designed by Lorraine Schwartz.
Hadid also switched up her style with a sheer yellow raincoat over a black bodysuit, bright yellow pumps and a matching bag.
Speaking with ET earlier in the night, Reynolds commented on the love he has received from his wife of 12 years as he prepares to debut the highly-anticipated Marvel project.
“She’s amazing, she is so smart. Everything I do is in lockstep with her and now she just takes every step with me — sometimes the scary steps, sometimes the ones that are, more often than not, aimed right at danger,” Reynolds joked of Lively, whom he married in 2012.
He added, “I am super grateful to her. She’s just so smart and so funny and [she] really, really helped in every aspect of this movie.”
The pair share children James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and Olin, 1, whose name was revealed for the first time on Monday.
“I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here,” Reynolds said to the crowd seated inside the theater. “I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here. I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing — that is, the contents of this movie — that happens in your wondrous life.”
Reynolds — after getting a wave of laughter from the audience — continued, “I love that my entire family is here.”
Earlier in the day, Lively took to Instagram to gush over her man.
“My y2k girlies, I should be competitive bc @itendswithusmovie is coming out in 3 weeks BUT when your middle school obsessions, your feelings post baby, or about Nice men who use feminism as a tool, your love of the Wizard of Oz, Succession, Sandy & Danny, driving with Avril blasting, the way the choreography of a certain boy*band song got me, of Baz Luhrmann fireworks to punctuate a moment, even down to the fact that our hair color is determined by seasons and the French method by which it’s painted are all so seen… MY WORD… it’s hard not to encourage my ladies to spot all the ways we’ve influenced @deadpoolmovie I’ve never been more proud. And I’ve given birth 4 times. 🤣 ❤️💛,” she joked.
Deadpool & Wolverine arrives in theaters on July 26 and It Ends With Us premieres on Aug. 9.
