Fashion design institute Pearl Academy partnered with Fashion Week & the City to hold a runway show featuring select alumni during London Fashion Week in the UK. The fashion show took place at St John Church at London’s Hyde Park.
On September 14, Pearl Academy presented collections by five of its alumni, chosen for their unique approaches to design, APN News reported. Swidhi Arora, Manit Pal Singh of Rasook, Sakshi Khetterpal, Saloni Arora of Label Muslin, and Shubh Goyal of Fierce London each presented their collection to an audience of media representatives and names in fashion.
“Pearl Academy proudly presents its exceptional alumni as they take centre stage at London Fashion Week,” announced Pearl Academy on Facebook ahead of the fashion show. “On September 14, 2024, witness their creativity unfold on one of the most prestigious global platforms. Stay tuned as they redefine the runway and showcase their exceptional designs!”
Eponymous designer and Pearl Academy graduate Sakshi Khetterpal presented a selection of her nature inspired womenswear designs on the runway as part of the show. With glittering details and intricate hand embellishments, the collection was both ethereal and tactile. Rasook showcased a range of men’s wedding wear on the runway in a collection designed to mix tradition with modernity and each designer showed their own take on Indian fashion.
“We are proud of our five distinguished alumni who showcased their work at London Fashion Week,” said Pearl Academy’s president Aditi Srivastava, ANP News reported. “This achievement is a testament to the legacy of excellence and creative rigour fostered within Pearl Academy. It highlights our ongoing commitment to nurturing talent that transcends boundaries, and we are confident that they embody the integrity and brilliance that define our institution.”
