The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council collaborated with the Satara District Saraf Suvarnakar Association and Satara Sarafa Association to connect with micro, small, and medium enterprises in Maharashtra and raise awareness about schemes for the sector.
The GJEPC gathered together Saraf’s jewellery industry to spread awareness on the potential for business growth by exporting goods to foreign markets, the traders’ body announced on its website. The workshop was attended by more than 350 participants from the local area who work in the gem and jewellery industry.
“A key highlight was a presentation on the potential for foreign market expansion and jewellery exports up to Rs10 lakh through e-commerce platforms,” announced the GJEPC on its website. “The session covered export facilities via hand carry, e-commerce, postal services, Ebay, and similar platforms. Detailed information on IJEX and the Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana was also shared.”
The GJEPC’s assistant director of national events Naheed Sunke and director and head of membership Mithilesh Pandey addressed participants and promoted membership of the organisation. Sunke and Pandey also encouraged workers to participate in its upcoming buyer-seller conferences and detailed its Parichay card scheme for official industry identification and access to health insurance schemes.
