The Gemological Institute of America’s India chapter brought together industry names and graduates at its graduation ceremony for its Graduate Diamonds Diploma Program at its Mumbai campus.
“I would like to congratulate our GIA Diamond Graduates for this remarkable achievement,” said GIA India’s senior director of education and market development Apoorva Deshingkar at the event, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. “The gem and jewellery sector is a highly skill-based field, and our programs provide time-tested skills and the knowledge to ensure our students are industry-ready.”
The event’s chief guest was Devansh Rajesh Shah, partner at Venus Jewel, who shares his industry experience with the graduating students. Shah spoke on the topic of ‘Opportunities in the Natural Diamond Industry’.
“We deal with natural diamonds – a product that’s high-value – and customers rely on us to provide them with accurate knowledge,” said Shah at the event, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website. “Education from institutes like GIA is important to build trust and confidence among consumers about this industry.”
Graduates also shared their experiences at GIA India. “I learned about GIA through friends in the industry,” said GIA diamonds graduate Aadit Parekh at the event. “As I’m starting my business in diamonds, the knowledge I gained from the program will prove extremely beneficial.”
