Augustinus Bader, the dynamic and fast-growing skincare label, has a new Paris home – an uber luxurious spa in Hotel Costes.
The new palace of pampering – entitled AB Augustinus Bader Costes – opened Wednesday alongside the downstairs swimming pool in Costes, the eternally fashionable hotel in Paris.
Totaling 1,000 square metres, the AB spa features custom-designed skin treatments in treatment rooms built with comforting barrel-shaped ceilings in pristine white.
Costes first opened in 1995, revolutionising the Paris hotel scene with Jacques Garcia’s too-much-is-never-enough opulent French baroque style, and famed interior garden terrace on rue St Honoré. It is still the hardest restaurant in which to get a booking in Paris. In 2021, Costes more than doubled in size by adding the next-door Hotel Lotti, and commissioning master minimalist Christian Liagre to create a high-polish modernism. Movie stars, tech billionaires, and the chicest of Parisians congregate in Costes.
Liagre’s firm is also responsible for the new AB spa which features smoked oak, platinum travertine, nut-hued marble, and emerald glass. It also boasts a high-tech Evelab that uses AI, Ionix light, and LED therapy to build a unique diagnosis for each face.

At the unveiling, happening Paris-based creatives like It Gal Lorena Vergani, System magazine founder Elizabeth Von Guttman, and fashion intellectual Jerry Stafford checked out the new haute gamme spa.
The spa also retails Augustinus Bader classics like its Crème Hydratante Riche, or rich moisturising cream, which retails for €300 for a 50ml bottle, or the new Elixir and Vitamin C Serum. All made in the brand’s stylish blue and copper colour packaging. And, it provides extensive massages and consultations with osteopaths and physical therapists.
Augustinus Bader, whose research at the University of Leipzig in Germany led him to create a gel to treat burnt skin, and former banker Charles Rosier founded the brand in 2018. The founders and French businessman Jacques Veyrat own a majority of the company’s capital. Other investors include billionaire telecoms entrepreneur Xavier Niel, Antoine Arnault, who heads image and communications at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE, and Diageo Plc Chairman Javier Ferran.
